Attentive readers might know that Boracay was on my long bucket list of must-see places (or spa resorts).
My dream came true three weeks ago when me and my mum decided to have our annual "mother-daughter-wellness-retreat" on the little island off the Sibuyan sea.
Although the journey was a bit long, it was well worth it. We found crystal-clear blue water, soft white sandy beaches and one of the best eco-resort villas we've ever stayed in.
No wellness holiday would be complete without my daily yoga practice. The Boracay Mandala Spa and Resort has this beautiful, grand yoga sala made of bamboo and stones which gives you so much new energy (hello root chakra!) it's just divine to practice there.
A real highlight was a 3-hour long Ayurvedic treatment: our therapists led the way to a beautiful spa villa where we received a relaxing full body massage with warm sesame oil followed by three cycles of detoxing sauna (yes, amazingly they have a finnish sauna there) and a blissful aroma body scrub.
Just looking at those beautiful pics and writing about it makes me want to return to Boracay immediately. The people there - not only in the resort but also on the island - were so kind to us and have made our stay especially memorable.
Now, after hearing the terrible news of the typhoon that hit the Philippines recently and left thousands of people without shelter and food, my thoughts go out to them even more. In the spirit of yoga, please consider donating a few bucks to help them re-build their humble lives.
P.S.: My dear blog, no, I've not forgotten that it's your first birthday! Happy Birthday!
And thank you, dear readers, for following my little wellness blog so far - to us and another year :)
