Thinking of Boracay & Happy Birthday!
Attentive readers might know that Boracay was on my long bucket list of must-see places (or spa resorts).
My dream came true three weeks ago when me and my mum decided to have our annual "mother-daughter-wellness-retreat" on the little island off the Sibuyan sea.

Oh sweet summer! It's my favorite time of the year. I often say that I was born in the wrong country as I dread the cold and love the heat. This is perhaps one of the reasons why I moved to Hong Kong. And although our beaches here are far from being as beautiful as the ones in Thailand or Bali, there are some hidden gems that invite you to swim, paddle board, surf or just chill by the sea.

Too often we can have the best intentions and plans but still don't commit to our daily yoga practice. I've been struggling with this for quite some time.
I'd create weekly schedules where I mixed restorative classes with some more challenging Vinyasa classes at different times of the day to make it as easy as possible for me to roll out the mat. And yet I'd still find too many (lame) excuses not to commit to it.

Tea & Talk: Beauty secrets from Annie Fung (my birthday gift)
So today is my birthday. It's funny: since I turned 30 two years ago, I kind of stopped counting the digit after the big 3 and on each birthday I have to ask my hubby how old I am.
His reply always surprises me. Seriously! In my mind I'm still 24 years old.
I don't know why it's particularly 24, but I think it's because it sounds nice and on some days I catch myself behaving accordingly. Not sure if this is a good or bad thing. But, hey, one needs to embrace the inner child, right?

Next up on my bucket list of must-visit spa destinations is Vietnam. While there are many well-known spa resorts located around Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi, I'm particularly interested in a little island called Con Dao. Never heard before? Yeah, me neither until I stumbled upon a travel magazine article that raves about its untouched beauty and lush tropical mangroves.

Bucket List: Bali & Nourishing Homemade Hair Mask

A little island that has been on my bucket list for many years now is Bali. Search for yoga & wellness retreats on the internet and you'll get at least 20 entries for this "heaven on earth" as yogis, surfers, hippies and world travelers call it. And it's such a shame I've never been there given how close I am (in a geographical and philosophical sense). Despite my meditational efforts, I often become jealous whenever friends or family brag about traveling there, participating in a cleansing yoga retreat, fun surf camp or re-enerizing spirit festival.

Bucket List: Boracay & DIY Face Clay Mask

I'm excited to present the first hotel spa on my bucket list, located on the secluded island of Boracay, Philippines, which is only a short flight away from bustling Hong Kong. My mum's round birthday is coming up and naturally I want to treat her to something special. Once she saw the breathtaking photos of this five star hotel with its white sandy beaches and tree houses with outdoor jacuzzis she was hooked - and so was I. |

Sushi, Wine & DIY...
This is so cute, I simply have to share it with you guys. My friends and obviously biggest fans in Vienna organized a girls get together for a fun night with yummy sushi, white wine and DIY aromatherapy recipes....from my blog!
I told them to take pics for me so I can see them indulging and blending. Oh how I wish I could've been there - now I'm really home-sick!
The girls followed my shower gel, body scrub, cellulite and pillow oil recipes. I'm excited to learn how they turned out for them:

Wanderlust. While many friends spent their Chinese New Year holidays in a beautiful, warm spot somewhere in Asia, we just had a lazy stay-cation. In order to not get utterly depressed about this, I self-medicated with a pile of travel, spa and yoga magazines. With the result that I now have a long bucket list of places & spaces I need to visit - aka my "100 must-see spas before I die".

Mission Accomplished!
My post about the last and final holistic detox week is way overdue so I simply blame it on the sugar rush I got from indulging in this yummy and beautifully decorated cupcake last weekend. But it seems that last week went by so quickly. I had the same dishes all over again (but it didn't feel boring) and my yoga, aromatherapy and motivation rituals became a routine.

Only 23 days to go...
Today is already day 8 of my holistic detox which means more than 10% - as my dear friend has pointed out - are now accomplished! Quite honestly, the first days were not the easiest ones: I suffered massively from coffee deprivation, had digestive problems and one afternoon I even dreamed of freshly baked dark bread with butter and a glass of milk. Well, by now I'm able to see the first signs of positive change: I'm no longer tired when getting up in the early morning; my skin is less dry and my energy levels have drastically increased.
